If you’ve been keeping up with the Pokemon GO news over the past months, you already know that a brand new pokemon is introduced to the series. Meltan, has been added to the game and its origins and usefulness were pretty vague. There are indeed ways to obtain it in the mobile game. One of those is through its own quest line in Field Research quests. The other is through the Pokemon GO Mystery box, which is available through Pokemon Let’s GO.
Firstly, getting Meltan through the Field Research tasks is not easy. You’ll have to complete an aray of quests, including all sorts of activities. For instance, you have to catch an Aerodactyl. For some, including me, that is not an easy thing to do. Luckily, there’s another way to catch the new mysterious pokemon and it is through Pokemon Let’s GO using a specific item. The Pokemon GO Mystery Box.
How to get the Pokemon GO Mystery Box
First of all, you’ll have to connect your Pokémon Go account to a Nintendo Switch copy of Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee. After that, transfer a Pokémon from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Let’s Go. Right after you do that, you’ll get a reward in Pokemon GO. The Pokemon GO Mystery Box.
What is the Pokemon GO Mystery Box
You can select the Mystery Box in your items menu and open it when you’re ready. When you do, the item will cause Meltan to spawn around you for 30 minutes. Much like the incense item but exclusively for Meltan. You can catch all you want in the meantime. This will help you get enough candy to evolve the Pokemon at some point.
