Images of Possible PS5 Devkit Design Emerge Online

Recently, we posted about how a patent has turned up filed by Sony which could be for an elaborate cooling device for the PlayStation 5. But now we have run into another theory about the same device. It is possible that rather than being a cooling accessory, it could actually be a PS5 devkit design.

Here are the Images of the Possible PS5 Devkit Design

If you want to take a look at the patent, you can do so here. You won’t learn much by viewing the document, save that the designer is Yusuhiro Ootori. The product is designated as merely “CONFIGURAÇÃO APLICADA A/EM DISPOSITIVO ELETRÔNICO,” which translates to “configuration applied to/in electronic device.” That is pretty much as vague as anything could get.

As these images do not come from the patent, we do not know if they are genuine or not.

Many people have pointed out that the “V” shape could be the Roman numeral “V,” as in “5,” as in “PlayStation 5.” This is why it is believed that we could be looking at a PS5 devkit design, or even the final design of the PS5 itself. Then again, it still could be a cooling device (note the vents) or some other accessory. Only time will tell.

We do not know yet when the PlayStation 5 will release. But we suspect that it might be November 2020, considering that the Xbox Scarlett is due to hit stores during the holiday shopping season next year.
