Industry Insider Rejects Claim About PS5 Teraflops

You might recall last year when we heard that we can expect 9.2 teraflops from the PlayStation 5. Well, if an industry insider is to be believed, the PS5 teraflops spec is not valid. Mind you, at the time, it was never more than a rumor, and this too is a contradicting rumor. But it is worth listening to, considering that the source is an industry insider.

Industry Insider Kleegamefan Says Rumor About PS5 Teraflops Isn’t True

It is Kleegamefan on Reset Era who is suggesting that the 9.2 teraflops spec holds no weight. Kleegamefan points out that other leaks have emerged already concerning the specs for the PlayStation 5, some of them potentially more reliable than this one. Most prominent among them is the GitHub Oberon Leak. The GitHub Oberon Leak specs disagree with those from the new leak which mentions 9.2 teraflops. So, it seems more likely that the GitHub Oberon Leak is correct and less likely that the more recent one is valid.

What is true and what is false? Right now, it is all guesswork. So, who is to say? We probably should lean toward the GitHub Oberon Leak, but there are no certainties right now. Thus, we just will have to wait until Sony makes an official announcement regarding the PS5 specs.
