Battle Royale Mode is Coming to Black Ops 4

A week ago, we reported that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 might be getting a Battle Royale mode like that featured in Fortnite and PUBG. And now, it’s official. Activision has just released a brand new trailer revealing the forthcoming Black Ops 4 Battle Royale mode, called “Blackout.” Check it out.

Treyarch is more than aware that Battle Royale is nothing new (something the narrator makes clear in the trailer). Nonetheless, the trailer promises that the Blackout mode will be unique and unlike anything else out there, and will be played on “the biggest map we’ve ever made.”

That map will itself be an amalgam of existing Call of Duty environments from previous games. Blackout will feature “your favorite characters, your favorite weapons, and iconic parts of your favorite maps. And we’re putting them all in one place, a crazy collision of fun, and letting you navigate it with land, sea and air vehicles. Something you haven’t experienced before.”

How many players will the mode support? There’s no word on that yet. By default, we would guess that it will be 100, but who knows.

While we’re waiting for more details to drop, you can check out the brand new multiplayer reveal trailer for Black Ops 4 below.

The Black Ops 4 zombies mode has also been revealed. Check out the trailers now for all three of the upcoming zombies experiences.

Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Be sure to pre-order the game, and keep checking back with us for more news!
