Keanu Reeves Stars in Cyberpunk 2077 “Seize the Day” TV Spot

With the game’s release now less than two months away, CD Projekt Red has released a major new TV spot trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, this time featuring Keanu Reeves. The new “Seize the Day” trailer was released on YouTube but will also be broadcast as a televised ad as the game’s release draws closer.

Although Keanu Reeves has practically become the face of Cyberpunk 2077 since it was announced that he would star as Johnny Silverhand, CD Projekt Red has shown very little of his appearance in the game thus far. All that has been shown are a few brief snippets of cutscenes, mixed into the game’s trailers; likely less than three minutes in total. Presumably, there’s far, far more to his role which fans have yet to see.

Over the course of the last few months, CD Projekt Red has been building up hype for the Cyberpunk 2077 release with Night City Wire; an episodic behind-the-scenes series which offers fans a look at gameplay featurettes, developer interviews, and announcements. (Such as that of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners). With only two months left to go before the release, another 1-2 episodes of that series are likely still to come. Plus, of course, the studio is likely to release more promotional trailers closer to the launch.

Unfortunately, the upcoming release is reportedly coming at a steep cost within CD Projekt Red. Recent reporting by Bloomberg exposed that the studio has implemented mandatory crunch leading up to the release. As a result, developers have been forced to work six-day weeks; a policy shift which goes directly against promises previously made by the studio’s management. (Promises which were originally made to reassure people that the crunch during development of The Witcher 3 wouldn’t happen again.) Needless to say, CD Projekt Red will likely have to address criticisms of this shift in the near future. However, it remains to be seen whether it will affect the upcoming launch.
