LaMelo Ball, James Wiseman, and Other Draft Prospects Join NBA 2K20 MyTeam NEXT
For the first time in the history of NBA 2K, members of the upcoming draft class are now available in MyTeam mode. That includes top prospects such as Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman, and LaMelo Ball, who each have Galaxy Opal cards up for grabs. It’s part of a new NBA 2K20 MyTeam content drop called NEXT to promote the rookies ahead of the draft months down the road.

LaMelo Ball, the brother of New Orleans Pelicans star Lonzo Ball, leads the way for NBA 2K20 NEXT cards that dropped on Thursday. He’s expected to go within the top three picks, with some mock drafts suggesting he’ll go first overall. That remains to be seen when the 2020 NBA Draft takes place.
However, Ball sees an early entry into the MyTeam mode ahead of the NBA 2K21 game’s release. He has two new cards available, one of the Diamond variety at 95 overall and then the Galaxy Opal. The higher-rated card brings 98 Playmaking, 97 Outside Scoring, 97 Athleticism, 95 Defending, and 91 Inside Scoring with an impressive 56 HOF Badges.
LaMelo Ball is joined by several other prospects that could go first or within the top three. They are Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman. Other rookie prospects in the NBA 2K20 NEXT promotion are R.J. Hampton, Onyeka Okongwu, and Cole Anthony. Each player has a Diamond and a GO card.

By the way, one of the game’s brightest young stars just so happens to be the collection reward for the new promotion. It’s none other than Zion Williamson, who we believe could be on the front of NBA 2K21 when the cover stars are revealed.
NBA 2K20 NEXT packs, boxes, & auction listings
The new NBA 2K20 NEXT packs featuring LaMelo Ball, James Wiseman, and other prospects are available in MyTeam Market. Packs start at 11,250 VC or 10,500 MT for Standard with a chance at the NEXT cards. Deluxe Packs are 15,000 VC or 17,250 MT with a guaranteed NEXT player inside. There’s also a 10-pack box for 135,000 VC.
Meanwhile, there are also auction listings going on for the upcoming rookies. LaMelo Ball’s Diamond card is as low as 17,000 MT on PS4 at the moment, with listings over 22,000 with an hour to go. His Galaxy Opal isn’t seeing too many listings yet on the PS4, if any. Meanwhile, other rookies are with Galaxy Opals for Cole Anthony over 160,000 MT and Anthony Edwards nearing 250,000 MT.
