Possible Leak Suggests October 8th as the Start Date for the Fallout 76 Beta
The long-awaited Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. (Break-it Early Test Application), is due to start next month. However, Bethesda has yet to announce a precise launch date. Now, it seems that fans may have some idea of when the Fallout 76 beta will start thanks to a leak posted on Reddit. Of course, there is little way to verify whether the leak is true, but the date suggested; October 8th, would certainly make sense.
Could the Fallout 76 Beta Launch on the 8th of October?
Bethesda has announced that the Fallout 76 beta will begin in October. However, it’s still unknown what the exact start date will be. A recent Reddit post may provide an answer, although it could equally be bogus. A user by the name of “AlfieTorpedo,” suggests that it will be the 8th of October. According to AlfieTorpedo, he did not receive his beta access code after pre-ordering the game on Amazon. When he enquired with Amazon customer service, he was apparently told that the code would be provided on the 8th of October. That would seem a rather arbitrary date, unless it were the actual launch date of the beta itself. The Amazon representatives apparently refused to disclose any additional information for the date or a reason for giving the code out on that date.
Of course, the story is not concrete evidence by any means. Amazon may not even know the precise start date of the beta, or may be going on older, placeholder dates. However, the date would make sense. The purpose of the beta is, of course, to test out the game and pinpoint any potential problems so that Bethesda can fix things before release. The game is due to release on the 14th of November. As such, the studio will need enough time to make changes, and holding the Fallout 76 beta in early October would give them that time. For comparison; Battlefield 5 was originally planned to release in late October, and the Battlefield 5 open beta took place during the first and second weeks of September. For now, fans will have to wait and see whether the 8th of October proves to be accurate. Fans should note that the beta will start earlier on Xbox One than it will on other platforms.
