Madden 19 Patch For September Brings New Rules Updates, Player Likenesses, And More

EA Sports released their brand new Madden 19 patch for September which includes a plethora of new updates for the hit football game. Just days after the Madden 19 rosters were updated, now fans are getting a batch of other new additions to improve the overall experience. These include updated looks for specific players, a few rules updates, gameplay tuning, and a special touchdown celebration dance for fans to enjoy, among other changes.

EA indicated in their latest list of notes that they have been monitoring forum comments to get user feedback. That reportedly helped them determine what to change, and there were quite a few of them. In terms of gameplay, the game developers made a few new adjustments or additions. One of the big adjustments was an update to the formula for how defenders play the ball in the air. Also, they added in a new signature celebration courtesy of the EA Play “Touchdown Celebration” winner Douglas Veney.

Madden 19 Patch Updates Rules, Player Likenesses

Among the NFL rules updated with the patch were a punt block issue and support for the new “NFL Rules point of emphasis.” The punt block issue was occurring when a team blocked a punt and it went out of bounds. The kicking team ended up retaining possession on the opposite side of the field despite that.

As for the “point of emphasis” rule, that relates to a diving ball carrier. The forward-diving player is now ruled down at the spot of the ball where their first body part (besides hand or foot) hits the ground. It will occur whether or not a defender touches them.

As mentioned, the recent roster update finally brought Khalil Mack to the Bears and made other important team changes. With this September patch, a total of 17 players from different teams have updated player likenesses in the game. They included Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley, Bears halfback Tarik Cohen, and Seahawks cornerback Shaquil Griffin.

Those are just a few of the latest “September Title” patch updates. EA also provided Madden Ultimate Team Updates, Franchise Updates, Visual Updates, and game changes for the PC version.
