Madden 19 Ultimate Team Week 2: Patrick Mahomes’ Ratings Jump, Andy Dalton Among MUT Stars

EA Sports’ Madden 19 has been available for football fans for weeks now, but the 2018-19 NFL season is only two weeks old. That means players have been displaying star performances, some of which are surprising fans. With that, every week during the season, a new Madden 19 Ultimate Team of the Week is available. This team consists of a group of players who performed exceptionally during the past week’s NFL games. Based on that, it’s no surprise that surging Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and star Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton are on Week 2’s team. Mahomes’ Madden player rating has also surged.

Mahomes, Dalton on Madden 19 Ultimate Team for Week 2

It’s hard to believe that Patrick Mahomes was just a rookie a season ago. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has been showing his stuff during this sophomore season. In fact, he set a record with 10 touchdowns in the first two games of this season. That beat a previous record of nine TDs thrown by Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Charley Johnson. EA Sports has taken notice for their Madden roster ratings.

In this past week’s NFL game, Mahomes led Kansas City to a big win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. A total of 23 completions for six scores and over 300 yards easily qualified him for EA Sports’ MUT Week 2. It also means his ratings upgraded quite a bit. Mahomes now has a 90 overall rating in the game. Back in July, he was just a 77 overall and ranked well below numerous quarterbacks. His new rating has him higher than Cam Newton, Ben Roethlisberger, and Carson Wentz, amother other veterans.

Fellow AFC quarterback Andy Dalton has been around for years and he’s shown his stuff before. However, he has been under the radar the past few seasons due to the Bengals’ lack of success. Early on in this campaign, Dalton has helped guide Cincinnati to two-straight wins. In Week 2, it was a 34-23 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Dalton threw 24 completed passes for 265 yards an four TDs.

Also making it onto this week’s team is Tampa Bay wide receiver, DeSean Jackson. Early this season, Jackson is clearly a beneficiary of playing with reinvigorated quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Jackson hauled in four receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown as the Bucs topped the Super Bowl Champion Eagles 27-21. Jackson holds an 85 rating in the game right now. It won’t be surprising if his quarterback “FitzMagic” makes the list with a third-straight magical performance. The full list of Week 2 MUT players is below.

  • Ricardo Allen, Falcons FS (5 tackles, 1 INT)
  • Andy Dalton, Bengals QB (265 yards, 4 TDs)
