Madden 20 Super Bowl Past Promo Players: Steve Young, Heroes, and MVP Exchange Set Details

With Super Bowl 54 just over a week away, EA’s Madden video game has launched their newest promotion. The Madden 20 Super Bowl Past promo includes a number of star players who have competed at a high level in the big game. That includes a special Steve Young item with a higher rating than his previous cards, and the option to build an exchange set for a 99 overall MVP.

New Madden 20 Super Bowl Past promo players include Steve Young

As gamers sign into Ultimate Team, they’ll receive a Gridiron Reward pack featuring Madden 20 Super Bowl past Steve Young. It’s just an 83 overall item and has a quicksell option to get 150 Training. However, Young has an even better card available with a new 96 OVR item that is part of the promotion.

It includes 95s for Throw Accuracy Short, Throw Under Pressure, Throw Accuracy Midrange and Throw on the Run. There’s also a 93 Throw Power as well as 92s for both Play Action and Throw Deep Accuracy. The Power Up option is there for even more boosts for the former 49ers QB.

That makes for Steve Young’s best item in the game since his Madden Legends item with a 90 overall rating. Here’s a look at the new card.

In addition to the Young Master item, are three Madden 20 Superbowl Past Heroes with 95 OVRs. They are Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, Los Angeles Rams right guard , and New England Patriots halfback Sony Michel. All three cards include a Power Up option along with some great key attributes to boost a MUT roster.

Gamers can also build a set of Sony Michel, Adam Timmerman, and Clay Matthews to exchange for the Steve Young Master item. Player cards are available at the Auction Browser or through packs in the store as described below.

There are also several lower-rated cards as the Super Bowl Past players. Amongst them is two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning with a new 86 overall card. One has to think that he might get a higher card very soon with the announcement of his retirement from the NFL, though.

Also pictured are the Seahawks’ Russell Okung, Patriots’ Chris Hogan, Falcons’ Robert Alford, Rams’ John Johnson III, and former 49ers back Frank Gore.

There are new items in the Madden Ultimate Team Store corresponding with the Super Bowl promotion. There’s a Super Bowl Pack for 35,000 Madden Coins or 600 Points. It includes one 82 or better overall SB player. In addition, there is a 5-Pack and a 15-Pack Bundle for 2,200, and 8,900 Points, respectively. There are also offers available to purchase an 82-plus SB player as well as a 95 OVR SB player for Training.

Gamers can put together an exchange set consisting of the Super Bowl Master players. This will be a valuable set as it can be exchanged for a 99 OVR Super Bowl MVP.

Whoever wins Most Valuable Player for Super Bowl 54 will get the card, leaving a number of possibilities such as Patrick Mahomes, Jimmy Garoppolo, or Nick Bosa. For the past 15 years, nine of the MVPs were quarterbacks. However, four were wide receivers including Patriots receiver Julian Edelman at last year’s game.

The Madden 20 Super Bowl Past is the first part of the promotion with Super Bowl Present on the way in the future. We’ll have more details as soon as that part of the promo arrives.
