Gamers have plenty of opportunities in the Madden 20 Ultimate Team mode to pick up new players for their roster. There are missions and challenges which bring great rewards such as the free MUT 10 NAT card they recently gave away. Other free player items have come through MUT Heroes, Legends, and the NFL Epics challenges. As of Friday (Nov. 1), there’s another great reward available. Here’s how to get the free Byron Jones Journey Master item available in Madden 20 Ultimate Team.

Madden 20 Ultimate Team adds Byron Jones Master item

In conjunction with the release of Madden 20 Ultimate Team Signature Series 3, there is a new Master item for gamers to earn. It’s Dallas Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones as a reward for the Journey 2 in Series Progression.

As shown below, it’s a 91 overall card which includes 94 Jumping, 92 Agility, 92 Press, 92 Zone Coverage, and 90 Acceleration. He’s also from the Cowboys, so he’ll be able to move up based on those teams built around one of America’s most popular squads.

How do you get the Byron Jones Journey Master?

The new Byron Jones Journey Master item is part of Series Progression. The high-rated card is a top reward in “Journey: NFL 100 Part 2.” You can find this on the Madden 20 Ultimate Team “Missions” screen by scrolling down and choosing “Series Progression.” From there, choose “Journey” to see the challenge screen (below).

If you never did Journey: NFL 100 Part 1 to earn Michael Thomas, then you’ll need to do that to unlock the new challenges. It takes earning 125 Stars to get to Thomas. That’s the same amount it’s going to take on Part 2 to earn the Byron Jones Journey Master item.

Here’s a look at the challenge sequences, milestones, and tier rewards.

As seen above, the Journey Challenges involve different eras and years from the NFL’s history you’ll progress through. A challenge might have a goal as simple as scoring a certain number of times, or it may require winning a full game. Gamers get more than one chance to play the challenges, and can earn multiple stores based on the difficulty level and achieving in-game bonus goals.

Each challenge gives One Star for Easy, Two Stars for Medium, or Three Stars for Hard setting. In addition, there is one in-game bonus goal which can earn another Star. So the maximum possible Stars is four per challenge. As you move through each part of the challenge, you’ll build up your total Stars. You’ll also get other goodies such as Madden Coins and Tier rewards including packs.
