Madden 21 Flashbacks Jimmy Garoppolo, Blake Martinez Revealed for Wildcard Wednesday
A Wildcard Wednesday preview arrived on Tuesday evening, showing off two of the player cards coming to Madden 21 Ultimate Team. There will be two brand new Madden 21 Flashbacks arriving in the game mode, with a former New England Patriots quarterback leading the way. Jimmy Garoppolo will be one of the new MUT items, along with former Green Bay Packers defensive star Blake Martinez.
Madden 21 Flashbacks cards arrive for Garoppolo and Martinez
After serving as an understudy to Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady in New England for three seasons, Jimmy Garoppolo moved to the San Francisco 49ers. There, he ultimately became their starter in 2019 and helped guide the team to a Super Bowl appearance. This past season saw him play in just six games, though, and there’s talk of a potential trade or cut coming.
He’ll return for Madden 21 Ultimate Team Flashbacks on Wildcard Wednesday (Feb. 17) to give MUT gamers a decent Patriots QB option now that Tom Brady is on the Bucs. Garoppolo’s new card features a 95 overall rating with 95 Play Action, 94 Throw Power, 94 Short Accuracy, 93 Deep Accuracy, and 92 Throw Under Pressure.
Joining Jimmy will be linebacker Blake Martinez who played the first four seasons of his career with Green Bay. Martinez, who is now a member of the New York Giants, has a Run Stopper Archetype. His 95 OVR card features 96 Tackling, 94 Play Recognition, 93 Block Shedding, 93 Power Moves, and 92 Acceleration.
The Madden 21 Flashbacks are available in several ways. There are the 89+ OVR Flashback Player packs available at Madden Store. These cost 6,000 Training points and include one Flashback player inside. Additionally, gamers will be able to pick up Garoppolo or Martinez cards through Madden Auction House, once they’re live in the game.
MVP Aaron Rodgers amongst NFL Honors players available
The new Madden 21 Flashbacks players join the recently-released NFL Honors player items. Leading the way in this season’s MUT promotion is the Most Valuable Player, Aaron Rodgers with a 97 OVR card. That’s not quite as good as Brady’s 99 OVR, but many MUT fans prefer Rodgers as their starting QB.
The Rodgers card is a LTD item which is available in packs through February 17 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The card is also selling at the Auction House for 2.7 million Coins or more on the various platforms.
Rodgers is the latest arrival for the MUT 21 promotion. He joins Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year players Justin Herbert and Chase Young and Fantasy POY Josh Allen and Defensive POY Aaron Donald.
All of their cards are currently available in packs or through the Auction House listings. In addition, gamers who had the Rookie Premiere Chase Young on their MUT roster should have seen the card boosted to a 97 OVR.
