Whether you’re playing Exhibition, Franchise, Ultimate Team or Superstar KO, the Madden 22 passing controls will be the same. The first step is to know your receivers and their icons for the play you call.

Each receiver will have a corresponding button, such as the PS4 controller’s Square, Triangle, R1, L1, (or Xbox’s Y, X, A, B buttons). You’ll press the button for the specific receiver you’re throwing to.

To scramble with your quarterback, use the Left Stick along with the R2 button on the controller. Your QB will quickly shift from trying to make a pass, to scrambling away from approaching defenders.

If you take off running with your quarterback, you may want to slide to avoid getting sacked. Tap the square button on the PS controller or X on the Xbox controller to slide.

If you’re in trouble, you can also throw the ball away. To do this, press or tap the Right Stick in on the controller. This should toss the ball to the sidelines and away from any coverage.
