Madden 22 Ratings for Wide Receivers Reveal First 99 Club Member in EA Game

The Madden 22 ratings for wide receivers have officially been presented for fans to begin the debates over who is under or overrated. Many probably won’t argue with the man who tops the top 10 list of wide receivers in the upcoming EA game. He’s the first 99 Club member and the only of the wide receiver group.

First 99 Club member revealed for EA’s game

It’s Madden Ratings Reveal Week! Each day this week, ESPN is presenting top 10 lists for ratings by specific positions in the upcoming EA Madden NFL 22 game. On Monday, July 26, the legendary Jerry Rice helped present the top 10 Madden 22 ratings for wide receivers.

One player came in at 99 overall, which puts him in the elite group that fans talk about each year. That is none other than the Green Bay Packers’ Davante Adams, who was a 99 OVR as the NFL season concluded.

ESPN’s SportsCenter and the NFL on ESPN Twitter pages each shared the big news on Monday. The NFL on ESPN posted his other Madden 22 attribute ratings. They’ll include 99s for Catching and Short Route, plus a 98 Spectacular Catch. That’s one spot where another player rates higher than he does.

Of course, recent rumors have suggested Adams may not have the future Hall of Fame QB Aaron Rodgers tossing him the ball anymore. Speculation arrived last week that Rodgers may be set to retire. The Packers’ longtime QB has yet to confirm that.

Top 10 Madden 22 ratings for wide receivers

During yesterday’s ESPN Kick-Off Show for the week-long event, we learned of notable Madden 22 rookie ratings, with tight end Kyle Pitts rated the highest of all rookies. Now we’ve learned that Adams is the highest-rated receiver in the game. However, a few players are very close to joining the 99 Club.

Coming in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, are the Arizona Cardinals’ DeAndre Hopkins and Kansas City Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill. Depending on how they fare in early action this NFL season, we may see one or two more entries into 99 Club.

Rounding out the top five are Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs, who is a 97 OVR in Madden 22, and Juli Jones, a 95 OVR. With Josh Allen throwing Diggs the ball, that puts him very close to the club as well. Jones gets a change of scenery. The longtime Falcons receiver will now be part of a Tennessee Titans team that features standout RB Derrick Henry.

Tyreek Hill seems pleased by his number for the upcoming game. Hill said it puts him a step closer to where he wants to be, which is likely that coveted 99 Club. Only the elite players make it, and with Mahomes as Hill’s QB, he has a great shot to get there.

Medium Route Running, Spectacular Catch top 10 lists arrive

Along with the top 10 wide receivers for Madden ratings came a few more lists. ESPN released a top 10 Route Running and top 10 Spectacular Catch list. Adams was once again at the top of Medium Route Running, with a 98 OVR there. He’s followed by the Bills’ Diggs (97 OVR) and Cardinals’ Hopkins (97 OVR) in the category. Here’s the complete top 10:

While Davante Adams was at the top of the Madden 22 ratings for wide receivers, he didn’t top every attribute list for WRs. For the Spectacular Catch list, it was Hopkins and the Browns’ Odell Beckham Jr. getting 99 ratings for that. Both seem deserving of the distinction, as many fans can probably recall an impressive highlight play or two of theirs recently.

The debates will rage on, but receivers should have time to prove themselves to ratings adjustors. The NFL season begins shortly after the new video game drops.

There are Madden 22 pre-orders on select editions and EA Play membership available for early access to play the game. Otherwise, gamers need to wait for the August 20, 2021 release date.
