Marcus Smart, Kevin Garnett Among New NBA 2K19 Throwback Playoffs Moments Cards
As the latest edition of the NBA Playoffs move forward, NBA 2K19 MyTeam is featuring postseason heroes of past and present. A new group of these heroes from the past is part of the latest NBA 2K19 Throwback Playoffs Moments cards. Among the players included are former Boston Celtics champion Kevin Garnett and current Celtics player Marcus Smart.
New NBA 2K19 Throwback Playoff Moments cards
While Kevin “Big Ticket” Garnett starred with the Boston Celtics’ “Big Three” during their championship run, he was a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves prior to that. The former NBA MVP and multiple-time All-Star receives a sweet Pink Diamond card as part of the NBA 2K19 Throwback Playoff Moments.
Garnett had plenty of great games in the postseason including the great Game 7 win over the Sacramento Kings in 2004. In that game, KG put up quite the effort, scoring 32 points and grabbing 21 boards. He also had five blocked shots, four steals, and two assists in an 83-80 win.
The new Kevin Garnett is one of two brand new Pink Diamond cards for Throwback Playoff Moments. The other is former Golden State Warriors star Chris Mullin who gets a 97 rating for his special card.
Joining the previous greats are two players still active in the league today. Former Chicago Bulls star Joakim Noah gets an Amethyst card with a 92 rating. He joins former Bulls teammate Derrick Rose as they were part of a Chicago roster that looked ready to capture more titles.
Also, current Boston Celtics star Marcus Smart brings the Ruby card with an 89 rating. Smart is the only player of those revealed today that is on a team currently participating in the playoffs. Unfortunately, he was ruled out for as much as two weeks due to injury. Smart gets the Throwback Moments Ruby card based on his previous heroics in the postseason over the past few years.
All four of these cards are available in the MyTeam Pack Market’s Throwback Playoffs Moments packs. Gamers can purchase a single pack containing five cards with a shot at one of the cards above. In addition, there are options to purchase five packs together or 10 packs, for different amounts of Virtual Currency.
