Master Chief Voice Actor Might Be Back For Halo Infinite

Steve Downes, was the voice of Master Chief for many years. Starting with Halo: Combat Evolved all the way down to Halo 5: Guardians, Downes’ voice is tied to one of the most iconic characters in the video game industry. Now, the famous voice actor teases his return for Halo Infinite and we can’t hold our excitement back.

Steve Downes’ first experience in voice acting for video games came in 1999 when he played the role of Gunnar in the video game Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator by Valkyrie Studios, as Wikipedia states. Despite the relatively minor role, his performance caught the attention of the voice acting director and music composer of the game, Martin “Marty” O’Donnell. When Marty began working on the video game Halo: Combat Evolved at Bungie, he invited Steve to voice the game’s main character, Master Chief.

Through his Twitter account, Downes revealed that he is ready to get back to work for Halo Infinite teasing his comeback as Master Chief. We already knew that the iconic character will be back for the upcoming title since he was starring in the revealed trailer shown at Microsoft’s E3 2018 conference.

There’s just one tiny detail here. If you look closely to the model supposed to be Master Chief on the teaser GIF above, you can outline the siluette of a woman. Do our eyes see weird things or is a plot twist coming to Halo? This theory brings us back to Metroid years, before Samus was found to be a woman. We wouldn’t want to see Master Chief’s name to be defiled, however, Microsoft did indeed talk about taking risks in the franchise.

There are not much information about Halo Infinite yet. All we have to do is sit back and wait for the game to be released, while a whole bunch or other huge titles are getting released in the meantime.
