MLB The Show 20 Ducks on The Pond, Headliners Set 25 Packs Bring New Diamond Players

Several days ago, we previewed several of the players available in the new MLB The Show 20 Ducks on the Pond packs. On Friday, the packs officially arrived in-game for players to acquire. They feature eight new Diamond player cards with some impressive stats. In addition to that, there are new Headliners Set 25 packs with a new featured star player. So let’s check out what all is available in the game as of June 5.

New MLB The Show 20 Ducks on the Pond packs

We previously showed off the Ducks on the Pond player cards for Andrew McCutchen, Daniel Murphy, and Salvador Perez. Each had some great attributes and could make great additions to Diamond Dynasty lineups. However, those were just three of eight Diamond players that are now available in these limited packs.

In addition, gamers may be able to find Cy Young winner Zack Greinke and Red Sox slugger Wade Boggs. There’s a new Prime legend with Yankees pitching sensation Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez. Two other available players are Tampa Bay Rays closer Fernando Rodney and former New York Mets outfielder Dave Kingman.

In the YouTube video below, Shelfy takes a look at all of these new Diamond players’ attributes and ratings.

The new MLB The Show 20 Ducks on the Pond packs sell at 35,000 MLB The Show Stubs each. There’s also a limit of just two of these per account, and the chances of landing one of the above players are somewhat limited.

These packs will have a 1 in 4 chance of including a 97 OVR or better Diamond in them. There is a 1:1 chance of a 92 OVR inside the packs.

New Headliners Set 25 pack bring featured Diamond

Not only did MLB The Show 20 Ducks on the Pond packs go live, but so did the less expensive Headliners Set 25. The new featured item inside these packs is a 96 overall Diamond card for San Francisco Giants Gold Glove catcher Matt Wieters.

These packs cost just 7,500 MLB The Show Stubs with a limit of five per customer. In terms of odds, there’s a 1 in 10 chance of landing an 85 OVR or better Diamond player. There’s a 1 in 3 chance at getting an 80-rated Gold player, and a 1:1 chance of getting a 75 or better Silver.

The great news for those who don’t mind spending a bit of cash on the game is an MLB The Show Stubs sale is going on. It’s 10 percent off 1,000 or 5,000 Stubs. There’s a 20 percent off discount for 11,000 or 24,000 Stubs and a 30 percent off discount for 67,500 or 150,00 Stubs.

The sale ends on June 10 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (2:59 a.m. Eastern Time on June 11).
