More Madden 20 Face of the Franchise: QB1 Details Discussed for Upcoming Game

On May 2, the first of the Madden 20 features Twitch live stream discussions arrived. It broke down Madden 20’s Face of the Franchise: QB1 and the new Franchise mode. Both of these aspects of the upcoming NFL video game will have unique gameplay details for gamers to enjoy. Here are some of the key details from the first new Madden 20 Twitch stream ahead of the game’s release date.

Face of the Franchise brings unique player and journey

The new Face of the Franchise will be a player’s unique story with a personalized journey to the NFL. Texas and Oregon were in the story mode in previous Madden, but now you get to use one of the 10 college schools to play through the CFP and Final game. You’ll play full games and your guy is the face of the franchise trying to make it big.

The unique feel includes the creation of your own special player complete with a different face, facial hair, hair color, style, and even voice options. These aspects allow you to make your character just like you. Player archetypes let you choose how your QB1 plays. Those might include Strong Arm, Improviser, Field General, or Scrambler.

Everything you do in Face of the Franchise is really going to impact your player’s journey and how it goes. Gamers will get a simulation of “real authentic NFL moments” from these aspects. That may include bumping into other Madden stars like Patrick Mahomes or Kyler Murray on the red carpet on draft night.

You’ll also become friends with different characters during your journey who can help or change your path. That includes befriending a wide receiver and hanging out or talking with them in different areas such as pregame or away from games.

There’s even an NFL Scouting Combine experience built into Face of the Franchise. Just like the NFL, this Madden 20 event includes your player going through Combine drills and even meeting with team general managers. So you’re in control of many aspects that impact how your player does and where he lands in the NFL Draft.

New Franchise Mode, Scenario Engine, Ratings Differences

New scenarios will come into play during Franchise mode via the Scenario Engine. With this new in-game system, gamers are will have different personalized playable scenarios or stories as part of the franchise. That will include different interactions with other characters or dynamic events where you’ll make unique choices to impact the way the game goes.

There’s a new way of doing ratings in Madden 20 Franchise. According to one of the Madden developers on the stream, there are about 400 fewer players that are at 70 OVR or higher. Some players will be in the mid-50s for OVR, allowing your players a longer runway to get to the top. So there is a wider range of ratings than previously. Scenarios and rating stretch will also make coach mode even better.

A new lineup screen layout allows owners to access the Superstar X abilities for their players. They’ll do this with menu icons on the right side. Player cards will have different background colors to reflect superstar X players or other types.

The development trait system will include Normal, Star, Superstar, and Superstar X-Factor. Superstar and X-Factor players can earn Superstar Abilities. X-Factor players can earn Zone Abilities. Also, Madden developers listened to the community for traits. In Madden 20, players won’t drop down in Development Trait after a season.

Those are just some of the exciting new developments coming in Madden 20 Franchise mode. You can see more of what’s in store at Madden’s Gridiron Notes here.
