NBA 2K League Combine Starts Monday, 76ers GC Ready to Avenge Finals Loss

The summer flew by fast and NBA 2K20 has been in rotation for over a month now. It also means that we are quickly approaching the official start of a new NBA 2K League season. First up, the league will have their official Combine event in order to determine the 2020 2K League Draft pool. In addition to that, the 76ers GC squad was recently in the spotlight as they prepare for their new season and a championship run.

NBA 2K League Combine qualifying details: Dates, playing times for the event

The latest NBA 2K League Combine starts on Monday, November 17. It officially runs until December 9 and is the next stage of qualifying for the 2K League’s 2020 Draft pool. In order to qualify for the Combine, gamers need to have achieved 50 wins without exceeding 100 games played, for a 50 percent win percentage.

This was to be achieved on the Qualifier mode of the game. If gamers achieved that, a special Combine tab should have appeared on their menu screen for NBA 2K20 allowing them to apply for the event.

The recent NBA 2KTV Episode 11 included a segment which highlighted the upcoming Combine.

Based on some of the comments on the tweet above, a number of gamers are having issues with getting a tab for NBA 2K20 Combine on their game. However, a few gamers mentioned they contacted support in order to resolve the issue. It’s unknown how widespread that issue is with the Combine beginning very soon.

In the NBA 2K League Combine event, gamers will participate in 5-on-5 games with six-minute quarters and Pro-Am Team rules. Gamers in the Combine will need to complete at least 40 games using one specific position in order to qualify for the 2K League draft.

76ers GC looking for redemption this season

While prospective gamers are trying to play their way into NBA 2K League, the professionals are anxious to get back into the games. That especially includes the runner-up team from the 2019 2K League Finals, 76ers GC. They bring back their “Core 4” of Radiant, ZDS, Breadwinner LA, and Steez. The stinging loss to the T-Wolves in five games in this past season’s 2K League Finals has them motivated to return to action with one goal.

In an extensive interview on 2K’s website, the four 76ers GC players and their coach give thoughts on last season and the season ahead. When asked about a specific goal for the upcoming season whether it’s awards or something else, Steez made it very clear what it’s all about.

“Radiant won the whole Glitchy #1, Bread’s got a Defensive Player of the Year, Radiant made a team of the year, Jeff got Coach of the Year, none of that means nothing if we don’t get a ring at the end of the season,” Steez said. “It’s awesome to have and it’s great for the resume…if we’re not holding that hardware at the end of the year, then it doesn’t feel right.”

They certainly appear capable of making a deep run into the 2K Playoffs again and this time hoisting the championship based on their NBA 2K talents.

In addition to speaking about the season ahead, Radiant gave some valuable advice to those participating in the NBA 2K League Combine event:

“Some guys will play a couple games and they’ll get bad draws on teammates and then just stop playing. I wouldn’t recommend that. Just give it your all, the worst thing the league can say is no,” he said.
