Several exciting new additions are available for the NBA 2K19 MyTEAM and Neighborhood aspects of the game on Friday. There’s a brand new “Moments” card for Houston Rockets’ star James Harden that MyTEAM players will be looking for. In addition, a sweet exclusive pair of new in-game kicks is available to players. In fact, the creator of the new Nikes is also a part of the game.

NBA 2K19 MyTeam: Harden’s big night brings a new card

Last night, the NBA schedule brought a nationally-televised matchup between Harden’s Rockets and LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers. The game took place in Houston and had plenty of highlight plays including James and Harden each wowing the crowd with dunks. In fact, Harden’s drive past Lonzo Ball and dunk over JaVale McGee was the NBA’s No. 1 play of the night on their “Top 10.” and looks like one the fans will try to recreate on 2K19.

Harden’s team ended up taking the game 126-111 thanks to the reigning NBA MVP’s performance. He tallied 50 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds for an impressive triple-double in the win. That brings James Harden another special Moments card for MyTEAM builders to hunt for in the game. A tweet from NBA 2K19 MyTEAM praised the performance and as many will note, it’s not his first time accomplishing this feat.

That James Harden card is available as of right now (Dec. 14) and will stay available until this coming Monday around 7 p.m. Eastern Time (4 p.m. Pacific). Gamers can find it within Moments packs or Heat Check packs to add the 96-rated Harden to their lineup. One has to think that he could easily have another Moments card in the future just based on how he goes off sometimes when it comes to scoring!

NBA 2K19 Brings Lorenzo, Nike exclusives into Neighborhood

That’s not all that gamers will find on Friday as the game introduced the brand new Fear of God 1 Nikes as well. They’re created by Nike collaborator Jerry Lorenzo and not even available in “real life” quite yet. However, gamers will find the new kicks available at NBA 2K19 Neighborhood. As seen in the tweeted images below, Lorenzo also makes his way into the game as a character sporting a Los Angeles Lakers jersey. They’ve even shown him dunking just like LeBron James.

Meanwhile, Lorenzo’s real-life sneakers have been grabbing attention based on images on websites or social media. They’re a slick high top with a black and white colorway including the Nike swoosh in a sleek black. The soles are all white with the Nike swoosh as well. On the back of the shoes above the heels, “Fear of God” is inscribed. The popular new design will sell at $300 a pair and is expected to release on Saturday (Dec. 15). 

Lorenzo did the necessary motion capture to appear in NBA 2K19 and posted an image to his Twitter. He also was a recent guest on Complex’s Sneaker Shopping with Joe LaPuma where he discussed the collaboration with Nike. He grew up during what they described as the “peak Jordan era” and has also worked with Kanye West.

Once again, it appears that NBA 2K19 game developers have their fingers on the pulse of the NBA, hip-hop, and sneaker culture. Lorenzo’s addition to the game is another slam dunk for the team even as some gamers complain over other game issues. It’s definitely a good Friday in the world of NBA 2K19 with the new items that they’ve added.
