NBA 2K19 Player Ratings Update: Derrick Rose Surges, James Harden On Decline

With the NBA season still fresh, players are making early campaigns for All-Star spots or even MVP status. Some players are even turning back the clock to a time in which it looked like they’d hold those statuses for many years. Now, new NBA 2K19 player ratings have rewarded a number of players including Minnesota’s Derrick Rose, with an update to their overall numbers. There were also players who have been slumping, such as James Harden, on the decline.

NBA 2K19 Player Ratings: Derrick Rose Surges, Blazers Rise

Three players in NBA 2K19 saw their overall ratings get a plus-five points boost. The most notable is Minnesota Timberwolves star Derrick Rose. He had that spectacular 50-point performance not long ago and has continued to play quite well this season.

Rose is currently third on the team in scoring with 19.2 points a game, along with 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per contest. While Minnesota is just 6-9 right now, they could be turning the corner based on Karl-Anthony Towns’ recent performances and the Jimmy Butler trade that brought in new members for their roster.

Joining Rose with that five-point boost are New York Knicks rookie Allonzo Trier (now a 74) and Warriors’ small forward Alfonzo McKinnie (now a 73). Another notable climber in the ratings this week is Sacramento Kings sophomore De’Aaron Fox. He gained three points to get to an 83 overall while the Blazers’ Jusuf Nurkic (82) and Bulls rookie Wendell Carter (79) also received three-point boosts.

Amongst teams, the Portland Trail Blazers saw a number of their players move up with ratings boosts. It goes to show how well the team has looked so far this season. They’re currently second in the Western Conference with a 10-4 record with only the reigning champion Warriors above them. In addition to Nurkic, Jake Layman went up four points, Zach Collins gained two, and Evan Turner added one point.

NBA 2K19 Player Ratings: James Harden, Gordon Hayward drop

The first part of this NBA season hasn’t been as great for a few All-Star caliber players. One of them is reigning NBA MVP James Harden, who has seen a decline in his play and resulting stats. Harden suffered a two-point drop down to a 94 overall, which still has him tied with several other top-tier players. They include Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, so it’s not a terrible place to be.

However, his teammates Chris Paul, Gerald Green, and Eric Gordon also fell by two points each, as did Carmelo Anthony. The Rockets have struggled to start the season but picked up a big win over Golden State last night. Recent news suggests Melo is on the move so stay tuned to see if their situation improves on the court and in the 2K game.

A player suffering an even worse drop in his NBA 2K19 ratings was Gordon Hayward of the Boston Celtics. He may have a better set of excuses, though. Hayward is coming back after being out due to injury, surgery, and rehab all last season. He’s also adjusting to his role with this team now that it’s clear Jayson Tatum is continuing to emerge as a star for the team.

No other player fell by four points and just two players fell by three points each. They were Seth Curry (now a 72) and Solomon Hull (now a 70). Gamers can check out the full NBA 2K19 ratings update via this Facebook post.
