The NBA 2K19 MyTeam Unlimited Tournament is officially underway as of Saturday, October 13th. The latest competition will offer gamers an opportunity to win $250,000 making it a sweet prize for the winner. Here are more details about the latest NBA 2K19 Tournament and its setup, as well as basic rules and prizes that are available.

How the NBA 2K19 MyTeam Tournament works

For the NBA 2K19 MyTeam competition, players are competing with 5-on-5 NBA-style games using any 13 cards from their Collection in the game. The contest is set up as a bracket tournament to determine Xbox One and PS4 winners. NBA 2K19 reminded fans about tickets for the MyTeam Tournament earlier on Saturday, as they tipped off the big contest launch.

In all, there are 32 contestants who will compete in single elimination tournaments scheduled for February 2nd, 2019. There will be 16 contestants for the Xbox One and 16 contestants for the PlayStation 4.The two winners from the PS4 and Xbox One tournaments advance to the Championship Finals. They’ll play one another in a three-game series.

Unfortunately for the PS4 winner, that best-of-three finals will play out on the Xbox One. Those finals will live stream on the various 2K19 social media channels as well as their Twitch channel.

A nice sum of $250,000 is up for grabs. The grand prize winner is going to walk away with all that cash money. The runner-up won’t be empty-handed, though. Both finalists also win a trip to NBA All-Star Weekend which includes tickets to all of the events. That takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina from February 15 to 17, 2019.

There areĀ a number of tournament rules 2K provides, but the basics for eligibility include age and residence. Most United States residents can enter the contest with the exception of those in Arizona, Connecticut, Maryland, and North Dakota. It’s also open to many other areas including Canada (not Quebec), Australia, France, Germany, Great Britain Mexico, Philippines, Spain, and more.Ā Gamers need to be 18 years of age or “have attained the age of majority” within their state, country or providence of residence.
