NBA 2K19 Patch 7 Updates LeBron James’ Face Scan, Other Player Looks, Gameplay Issues, & More

When it comes to the sport of basketball, LeBron James is widely considered today’s “face of the NBA.” Now thanks to the newest NBA 2K19 Patch 7 update, LeBron has a new face scan in the game. In addition, several other star players got makeovers to reflect how they actually look out on the real courts. Of course, 2K developers also made some important tweaks to gameplay and other modes. Here are more details about what’s new in NBA 2K19 Patch 7 update.

NBA 2K19 Patch 7 updates player looks

A new fade haircut for LeBron James is now in effect for NBA 2K19. It adds that important realism that was missing from the man known as “King James” as he continues to excel with the Los Angeles Lakers. In addition, 2K noted they updated a number of other players. NBA 2K tweeted that they include the Brooklyn Nets’ D’Angelo Russell, Philadelphia 76ers’ Markelle Fultz, and Minnesota Timberwolves’ Robert Covington. The changes will reflect tattoos, haircuts, or other unique aspects of their looks that fans see associated with these players.

A Twitter user @Malachi_512 shared screenshots that show off other player likenesses updates. They include the Orlando Magic’s Evan Fournier, Philadelphia 76ers’ JJ Redick, and the Milwaukee Bucks’ Malcolm Brogdon (below). Other highlights are the Bulls’ Zach LaVine and Grizzlies’ Mike Conley. Gamers should see the new likenesses reflected in the game once they’ve completed the Patch 7 update.

2K’s dev team also noted that any of the latest uniform and shoe updates that happen will be reflected automatically when saving on MyCAREER, MyLEAGUE, or MyGM. In addition, there will be “updated action photos” for any players who previously didn’t have one or whose photo was from a previous team.

NBA 2K19 Patch 7 Gameplay, MyLEAGUE Online Fixes

The 2K dev team fixed just a few aspects of gameplay, but it could indicate the start of resolving other gripes that gamers have with the game. One of the fixes got rid of an issue where illegal screens were called “in inappropriate circumstances.” The other fix was to reduce how often shooters fall to the floor when they are shooting a shot in traffic.

Loyal fans of MyLeague Online will appreciate that the dev team fixed a few rough spots there. One issue involved users who were getting “game disconnects” when there was a timeout in a MyLEAGUE Online game. The other issue involved some users who said they were unable to play with or against friends in MyLEAGUE Online. These problems are resolved, per the 2K dev team.

One other cool update of note is in the Pro-Am Team games. Gamers can now use alternate jerseys if they want to further customize the on-court look.

The NBA 2K19 patch 7 is available for all NBA 2K19 game platforms and is 6.833 gigabytes in size.
