NBA 2K19 Player Ratings Update Boosts Nikola Jokic & D’Angelo Russell, DeMar DeRozan Slides

Players in the NBA are constantly evaluated by teams, fans, and sports analysts. There’s also analysis in terms of how they should rate in the video game world. With the start of the new month, comes a brand new NBA 2K19 player ratings update. A number of players are trending up including the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic and Brooklyn Nets’ D’Angelo Russell. However, other players have slipped due to less impressive performances lately.

NBA 2K19 Player Ratings Update: Jokic, Russell among rising stars

There are a number of players having breakout seasons right now. Players like Paul George, James Harden are known stars that are doing well. They’re each up by a point with the new ratings. However, Denver’s Nikola Jokic has been on the rise this season as he’s helped his Nuggets team to the No. 2 record in the West at 35-15.

His numbers this season earned him a first-ever All-Star appearance as one of the reserves in this month’s game. NBA 2K’s player ratings squad took notice for sure and have bumped Jokic up by two points to a 93 rating now. That actually put him just a notch above All-Star starter Paul George (92). James Harden is now a 97, making him one of the top players in the game.

A team that was flying under the radar in the NBA is the Brooklyn Nets. That’s not the case anymore, as they are looking like the real deal. Even without Spencer Dinwiddie, D’Angelo Russell has been helping to lead this team to a winning record. He currently has averages of 19.6 points, 6.4 assists, and 3.8 rebounds.

As of this report, the Nets are also within the playoff picture. Russell has been doing quite well and didn’t get the All-Star reserve spot, yet. He could still join the game as a replacement for the injured Victor Oladipo. Meanwhile, in 2K19 he’s got an 86 rating now thanks to a two-point boost.

Other notable boosts include the Nuggets’ Malik Beasley up three to 77, the Lakers’ Ivica Zubac up two to 77, and Spurs’ LaMarcus Aldridge up two to 88. The Pelicans’ Jahlil Okafor is up two to a 76 overall thanks to his performances during Anthony Davis’ injury.

NBA 2K19 Player Ratings Update: DeRozan, Walker among notable drops

Ratings adjustments also go into effect for players in a slump. A trio of All-Star guards is among those who dropped a bit recently. The Spurs’ DeMar DeRozan fell the hardest, as he’s dropped three points and is now an 86 overall in the game. His former backcourt mate Kyle Lowry of the Raptors also slid down two points to an 85.

The Charlotte Hornets’ Kemba Walker was putting up some great scoring performances earlier this season. He’s been slumping lately and is now an 88 overall after falling by a point. However, both Lowry and Walker are still headed to play in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game. Walker will get the start in his franchise city.

Other notable players who fell include Atlanta’s Taurean Prince down three points to a 76 and the Bulls’ Kris Dunn down two points to a 77. Cavs rookie Collin Sexton is down two points to a 74.

There’s always some contention with who deserves better too. Gamers seem to make a great point about Khris Middleton. He’s an All-Star reserve, but some commenters have mentioned he shouldn’t be rated as fourth-best on the Bucks, but better. The full ratings update list is available here at 2K’s Facebook post.
