NBA 2K19 Ratings Update: Paul George Climbs Again, LaMarcus Aldridge & DeMarcus Cousin Drop

A brand new NBA 2K19 ratings update arrives with changes for the overall numbers of specific players. As with previous updates, certain players saw decent increases while others have seen a decline based on their performance lately. Particularly, NBA All-Stars are on the move in this latest update. Let’s dive into which NBA players were amongst the movers and shakers in this latest 2K19 ratings update.

NBA 2K19 ratings update: Paul George, Curry, Irving trend up

In previous player ratings updates, stars have risen or fallen based on surges or slumps. A trio of players from the All-Star game are amongst the recipients of higher numbers in this latest update. Paul George may have been slumping just a bit, but he has since turned things up a notch. He’s the second-leading scorer in the league and continues to help the Thunder get wins. George moved up two points in this new update to a 94 OVR.

His fellow All-Star teammate Stephen Curry received a one-point boost to become a 96 OVR. That makes Curry the highest-rated player in terms of all the players in this update. It’s no secret that Curry and the Warriors are still the team to beat in the league. That hasn’t changed, but there was one of his teammates who slid a bit.

One other All-Star starter moved up and that is Kyrie Irving. The point guard for Team Lebron is now a 93 OVR after a one-point boost. Irving and the Celtics have made headlines lately with regards to their team’s ability to succeed in the improved Eastern Conference’s top tier. That will be seen as the season plays out, but Irving is still doing his thing in Boston.

Other notable increases were plus-three points for the Suns’ Josh Jackson to make him a 76 and a plus-four boost to Ivan Rabb, making him also a 76. Pascal Siakam continues his overall rise for the Toronto Raptors as he’s moved up another point to am 85 OVR.

NBA 2K19 ratings update: DeMarcus Cousins, LaMarcus Aldridge drop

DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins has been an All-Star before, but since he was a late addition to the Warriors’ lineup due to injury, he didn’t qualify this year. That said, there are fans wondering about his 2K19 ratings drop in the new update. Cousins slid from a 90 OVR to an 88 with the changes. It’s true, he’s not quite at the All-Star level he once was. If he steadily improves as this season moves forward, expect that number to get back to 90 or better.

Meanwhile, LaMarcus Aldridge was an All-Star reserve this year and received a sweet 2K19 Moments card for one of his performances this season. For some reason, the 2K19 ratings adjustors felt the need to modify his rating just a bit after recent games. He dropped a point and is now an 87 OVR, which puts Aldridge just below DeMarcus Cousins. Aldridge is averaging 21 points and nine rebounds a game right now for a Spurs team that’s in the playoff picture.

NBA 2K19 ratings changes that fans want to see

Some of the fans have spoken with regards to the latest NBA 2K19 ratings changes. In particular, there are some valid points being made about giving more respect to the Indiana Pacers’ Myles Turner, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Turner has been steadily improving this season and leads the league in blocks. One might say it’s a career year for Turner as he averages 13.5 points, seven boards, and 2.7 blocks a contest. It’s possible his name will be amongst candidates for a Most Improved Player award.

The Bucks are leading the Eastern Conference, yet the ratings haven’t quite reflected that. Still, they do have two All-Stars and have defeated several of the league’s top overall teams. It’s likely the ratings will eventually catch up as it’s hard to ignore how good these players are performing right now.
