NBA 2K20 Gameplay Blog, Player Ratings Arrive For Bradley Beal, Kyle Lowry

As of the past few days, a number of developments have arrived with the upcoming NBA 2K20 video game. One of the biggest was the reveal of a lengthy NBA 2K20 gameplay blog covering the updated aspects of the new game. In addition, more NBA 2K20 player ratings reveals are continuing to arrive. The newest include NBA All-Stars Kyle Lowry and Bradley Beal.

NBA 2K20 Gameplay blog details key changes

For those who missed it, an NBA 2K20 gameplay blog arrived on Monday (August 5) detailing a lot of big changes for the upcoming title. The particular upgrades that they dive into include motion engine tweaks and changes, takeover, working off-ball, as well as the handles and sauce aspect. You can review the full gameplay blog here at NBA 2K Facebook.

In particular, many gamers are already looking forward to the new speed mechanics. As mentioned in the blog, this will make gamers think about how they apply the sprint button during play rather than “spamming it.”

The Lockdown will bring a “Read & React Defense” with more tools for defenders to lockdown their opponent. Different indicators will show up with ball handlers. A small arrow will appear under a ball handler at different times based on how good a defender is. This will allow them to “read and react” appropriately. Another indicator ring will appear broken up with the ball handler as they’re more vulnerable to losing the ball.

There are also other upgrades including the AI offensive and defensive help, off-the-ball play, and a list of about 80 badges for players. They’ll include Neighborhood-specific badges for NBA 2K20, a welcome addition to the game’s environment.

Still, questions remain about how the removal of archetypes will play into things. Also there are those who are still making their complaints known about the server crashes and cost to improve MyPlayer and MyTeam. So it will be interesting to see how those aspects of the game are for NBA 2K20 gameplay.

Player ratings revealed for Lowry, Beal

We’re far from the official NBA 2K20 release date, but more and more player ratings are coming out. Two All-Stars were revealed over the past day or so. First up, we learned that Toronto Raptors All-Star Kyle Lowry will bring an 85 overall into the new game. He’s fresh off a championship season with Toronto and will now lead them without Kawhi Leonard. However, Pascal Siakam is still on the roster and a rising star, so things could be interesting even in the new season with no Kawhi.

There are those gamers who feel an 85 is too high and even question why Lowry is above Derrick Rose. That said, keep in mind he’s still an All-Star player and playmaker who helped the Raptors get to the NBA Finals and win it. While Kawhi Leonard was the clear MVP, Lowry certainly played his part and should continue to lead this team next season.

The Washington Wizards’ star over the past season was Bradley Beal who led the team while they were without John Wall. He achieved NBA All-Star status once again, and was amongst trade rumors over the past season for a number of teams including the Lakers. However, he’s still the main man in DC and will look to have another successful season.

An 87 seems about right, as it puts him above Kyle Kuzma and Jayson Tatum. Could Beal ascend to the 90 level this season? That remains to be seen but he certainly has the abilities to get there!
