NBA 2K20 Patch Fixes MyCareer, MyPlayer Glitches, & Many Gameplay Issues

Since the release of the new NBA 2K20 game on September 6, the title has been seriously impacted by numerous glitches and issues. It had frustrated fans to the point they were able to get a hashtag “#fixnba2k20” trending big on Twitter. As of Friday the 13th, 2K developers finally released an NBA 2K20 patch to address many of those issues that were causing aggravation.

Huge NBA 2K20 patch arrives with many fixes

Upon launch of 2K20 on one’s platform of choice, a huge patch update should download and install to address a lot of issues. One of the frustrating glitches in NBA 2K20 included the MyPlayer No Name issue. This is where some 2K20 MyPlayer names would inadvertently disappear.

Developers fixed that glitch with the NBA 2K20 patch on Friday. They also mentioned a new 2K20 archetype build may be needed to get that working. Some gamers are still reporting frustrations that customization items aren’t showing up on for their courts in the game, though.

2K developers reported they’ve fixed the game hanging up at “intermittent times.” This includes completion of games in Domination, when navigating VIP Stats menu, and in Play Now Online games, among other times. So that major issue seems it has been improved.

Their notes are vague with regards to the “numerous gameplay improvements.” However, they mention the new NBA 2K20 patch fixed out of bounds awareness, made interior shot defense contact detection “more reliable,” and fixed logic for certain badges. There were also fixes for using Pro Stick to finish alley-oops and for standing stepback escape moves.

There were also fixes in MyTeam. These included making sure users receive proper awards for achieving new Collector Levels. Another fix should give the correct reward cards after Domination games. In addition, the 2K patch notes indicate there were “Many, many more fixes” which will improve the overall game experience.

Even after the patch, gamers are still reporting frustration that 2K released such a glitchy game full of issues. Others are pointing out that the NBA 2K20 patch update was quite large and nearly as big as the game itself to install. That shows just how much work was necessary to make it a better experience.

The early frustrations may soon subside in favor of playing NBA 2K20 games ahead of the upcoming basketball season. Meanwhile, the NBA 2K20 reviews have given the title yet another poorly-received installment. Will gamers eventually warm up to the title, or will NBA Live 20 come through and give gamers what they’re looking for?
