Ahead of the NBA All-Star Game are plenty of other events including Rising Stars, Slam Dunk Contest, and the Celebrity Game. The latter of these events will feature familiar face to 2K fans, Ronnie 2K. He’s been the face of promotion for NBA 2K games for years now, appearing on his Twitch or Caffeine channel for giveaways and playing in the 2K game regularly.

Last year fans saw Ronnie 2K participate for the first time in the 2019 Celebrity Game for All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina. He’ll return for a second year for the 2020 game scheduled for Friday night in Chicago. Ronnie will be on Team Stephen A, which is the away squad coached by ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith.

Also appearing on the squad with NBA 2K20’s Ronnie 2K will be rapper Quavo, actor LaRoyce Hawkins (“Chicago PD”), rapper Taylor Bennett, Bucks co-owner March Lasry, actor/comedian Lil Rel Howery, WNBA star A’ja Wilson, and NBA legend Darius Miles. Chicago’s own Chance The Rapper will be the team captain.

The home team, Team Wilbon, will have ESPN commentator Michael Wilbon as the coach. Their competitors will include Chicago rapper Common as team captain, actor/comedian Hannibal Buress, SNL actor Alex Moffat, musician Kane Brown, recording artist Bad Bunny, Chef Jose Andres, WNBA star Chelsea Gray, and NBA Legend Quentin Richardson. Last year’s MVP, Famous Los will be back as well.

Ronnie 2K will try to improve upon last year’s performance. In last year’s game, Ronnie shot 2-for-6 to finish with four points. He also had six rebounds, a steal, and two blocks for his nearly 16 minutes of time on the court.

The NBA 2K20 star and promoter has posted video clips to his Instagram showing him dunking and practicing for the event.
