When Season 6 launches for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on the 7th of October, PlayStation users can look forward to a little something extra; Onslaught Elite. This new limited-time mode will only be available to play in the Onslaught portion of Zombies – something which has been exclusively available on PlayStation consoles since release.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 6 – Onslaught Elite
While Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode will be getting its final round-based map, Forsaken, as well as a new Perk, and more, Onslaught’s expansion is more conservative. Firstly, the mode will be getting a single new map added to its current map rotation. This map is Deprogram, a 6v6 map coming to Multiplayer as part of Season 6. The most significant thing to know about Deprogram is that the map is set within Adler’s own mind! It is a jumble of stitched-together memories and locations, making it the game’s strangest map yet. Indeed, physics-defying Red Doors even offer impossible routes across the map.

Also launching in Season 6 is Onslaught Elite, a new limited-time game mode. This mode variant aims to up the difficulty of Onslaught by spawning an Elite enemy with every new surge. As such, players will have to face three times as many Elite enemies as normal. To make matters worse, players will even see enemies like Disciples and Tempests spawning in as Elite enemies!
There is a worthwhile reward for those who can take on – and complete – this challenge. Players who successfully complete 20 waves in Onslaught Elite will earn a Legendary Assault Rifle Blueprint. Known as “Rock Salt,” this Blueprint is for an assault rifle introduced all the way back in Season 1; the Groza. It’s currently unknown how long Onslaught Elite will remain available to play. As such, players wanting to get their hands on Rock Salt, or simply take on the Elite challenge, should do so sooner rather than later.
