Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One is now available, and with it, players are getting two brand-new weapons. Best of all, both of these new firearms are available for free, as they’re included within the 20 free tiers of the Season One Battle Pass. The first offers players a light machine gun with a very high firing rate, while the second offers a powerful, close-range bullpup assault rifle.
New Weapons in Modern Warfare Season One: The Holger-26 and RAM-7
Earlier today, Activision revealed the details of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Pass. This pass features 100 tiers of content and rewards for Modern Warfare Season One, and while most of these rewards are cosmetics or COD points, there are two new weapons included as well. Fortunately, this isn’t pay-to-win; you don’t need the Battle Pass to get your hands on the new guns, as 20 of the Battle Pass tiers are free for all players, and the weapons fall within these tiers.
To unlock the Holger-26, the first of the two new guns, you’ll need to reach Tier 15 in Season One. According to Activision, this weapon is; “a light machine gun that has one of the fastest firing rates in its class,” with; “impressive mobility despite its size”. This will be the fifth LMG to become available in Modern Warfare, so it does have competition for players’ loadouts. However, it could very well outshine some of the existing alternatives, especially because it has an extremely high firing rate.
The second weapon is unlocked once players reach Tier 31, and this is the RAM-7; a new bullpup assault rifle designed for close-quarters gunfights. More versatile than some of the other assault rifles in the game, the RAM-7 even features an unlockable 9mm magazine; further helping it to excel when used up close. Indeed, this addition could well become a staple for indoor maps with plenty of tight corners and few open spaces.
