With the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5, Multiplayer is set to receive a bevy of new content; five new maps, new weapons, and a major new game mode. However, Zombies will be receiving plenty of new content too, including a new Field Upgrade, Perk, and Support Weapon at launch.
Black Ops Cold War Season 5 – New Zombies Content
The new Zombies content coming with Season 5 will be available in all of the mode’s round-based maps, as well as Outbreak. The new Perk, which will be the ninth Zombies Perk in Black Ops Cold War, is a brand-new one; Death Perception. This Perk allows players to see enemies through obstacles by highlighting their silhouettes. Of course, it can also be upgraded to provide greater benefits with Aetherium Crystals. The exact details of these benefits are currently under wraps.
Alongside the new Perk, players will also be getting access to a new Field Upgrade, called the Tesla Storm. As the name implies, this Field Upgrade is a powerful electrical ability. When activated, Tesla Storm will generate electrical discharges between the user and their allies. Any enemies struck by an arc of lightning will be both damaged and temporarily stunned. At higher Skill Tiers, Tesla Storm can also stun both Special and Elite enemies. Plus, it can simultaneously boost the movement speed of friendly players.
While there won’t be a new map coming to Zombies in Season 5, there will be a new Support Weapon coming alongside the Perk and Field Upgrade. This Support Weapon is the Flamethrower, which is also coming to Multiplayer as a new Scorestreak. Needless to say, this weapon is likely to perform very well in Zombies. Its short-range stream of flame should be able to quickly incinerate hordes of zombies chasing the wielder. All three of the new items – Death Perception, Tesla Storm, and the Flamethrower – will be available at launch, on the 12th of August.
