Each of the four divisions has 15 NHL 20 All-Star cards for their players. All of the players start out with 88 overall for their ratings but have different attribute ratings. For example, Artemi Panarin has a 98 for Skating, Patrick Kane has a 90 rating for Shooting, and Matthew Tkachuk has an 89 Check rating.

Other star players with cards in the promotion include former cover athlete Conor McDavid, Buffalo Sabres star Jack Eichel, and Boston Bruins star David Pastrnak. The current cover star Auston Matthews will also participate in the big game.

How do the dynamic player cards work?

The cards are dynamic in that they’ll move up in ratings based on how the players perform during the All-Star skills competitions and the big game. As explained in NHL 20’s Ultimate Team mode, any player who wins a skills competition will have two of their card attributes go up by to 99 overall.

Every goal a player scores during the All-Star Game will boost their card’s overall rating by a point. The two goalies who are on the final winning team will go up by two points on their overall ratings.

The NHL 20 All-Star MVP’s card will go up to a 95 overall rating, while all of the players on the winning team will get additional team synergy. It makes for a fun promotion for fans as they watch the upcoming event and hope that their particular cards see some boosts in HUT mode.
