Overwatch League

The Overwatch League’s All-Star Game is scheduled for Aug. 25 to 26 at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles. More details about things like ticketing and fan experiences are expected soon.

The event is part of the league’s offseason activities, since the regular season has already ended. But there are still the inaugural season’s playoffs to look forward to in July, when the league’s top six teams will face off for the ultimate Overwatch crown. Two winners from the tournament will move on to the grand finals event on July 28 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Overwatch World Cup teams are also starting to reveal their rosters. Though this event won’t be taking place until BlizzCon in November, the group stage events are coming up quick. Committees have already formed and player tryouts are currently underway, with some teams having already hand-picked the cream of the crop from their countries.

Overwatch World Cup

Australia and Norway have already begun revealing their rosters and it’s likely that other teams aren’t far behind. Teams have until July 5 to submit their rosters to Blizzard for approval.

The Australian Overwatch World Cup committee announced their selections for the national team on Twitter yesterday, including Scott “Custa” Kennedy, a bunch of Blank Esports players, and some Overwatch World Cup alumni.

With Norway, fans will recognize players like Jorgen “Decod” Myrlund from Last Night’s Leftovers, analyst ikael “mkL” Skjonhau, and Angry Titals DPS Stefan “ONIGOD” Fiskerstrand. The Norwegian committee touched on its selections in a TwitLonger post.

“There were a lot of new names that impressed me a lot, their drive and skill was truly remarkable,” the committee wrote. “I was also impressed by the older names that are still managing to keep up with the competition.”

No dates have been announced yet for the Overwatch World Cup group stage, but will likely be set after the Overwatch League finals.
