Pizza Hut Stadium Unveiled for EA’s Madden NFL 20 Championship Series

The Madden NFL 20 Championship Series is ready to kick off with the first event of the season on Friday. Just ahead of that, esports fans are getting their first look at the brand new Pizza Hut Stadium. Fast food franchise Pizza Hut is sponsoring this year’s MCS and has created the “first-ever virtual stadium deal in esports.” Here are more details on the Pizza Hut Stadium and upcoming Madden Championship Series.

First look at Pizza Hut Stadium for Madden NFL 20 Championship Series

On Thursday, Pizza Hut gave a retweet for Madden NFL 20’s big announcement. The Madden 20 Classic begins on Friday (Aug. 30) with the tournament held at Esports Stadium Arlington. However, the Madden 20 games are played virtually inside Pizza Hut Stadium. The venue will appear exclusively as the location of the M20 games throughout the upcoming MCS.

Here are some of the key details about the first-ever virtual stadium for Madden NFL 20 Championship Series season:

  • The seating capacity is about 71,000.
  • The footprint is about 770,000 square ft.
  • The volume inside the roof is about 219,400,000 cubic ft.
  • There are 381 total luxury suites in the stadium. That’s one more than AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Marianne Radley, Chief Brand Officer at Pizza Hut said of the sponsorship:

“Pizza and sports go hand in hand, and esports is no exception. Pizza Hut has always been a trailblazer in the gaming space, from the days of tabletop Pac-Man in our restaurants, to now, becoming the first-ever brand to have an official virtual stadium rights deal in esports. The goal of all our partnerships is to create 360 fan engagement and we are thrilled to join forces with EA Sports to create memorable experiences that connect fans to their favorite sports like never before.”

Pizza Hut, Snickers among MCS sponsors

Pizza Hut is one of several sponsors for the Madden NFL 20 Championship Series. This weekend’s Madden 20 Classic is presented by Starbucks Cold Brew. Also, Snickers will serve as another of the official MCS sponsors throughout this season along with Pizza Hut.

The Madden 20 Classic is the first major event of the Championship season and arrives just ahead of the NFL’s 2019 regular-season Kick-Off game. The Classic brings the top Madden 20 gamers together in one of the largest competitor pools ever.

There will be a $190,000 total prize pool for this weekend’s competition in Texas. First and second place competitors will also have a chance to compete at the Madden NFL 20 Bowl, which is the grand finale of the season. See more details about the upcoming Madden 20 Classic here.
