Remember when we told you to start hoarding chips and beverages for The Game Awards 2018? Well, you might need it sooner than that. Apparently, Sony has announced that they’ll be hosting the Playstation Awards 2018, three days prior to the next big game award ceremony. That’s tomorrow!
According to the original announcement, the Playstation Awards 2018 will be livestreamed on December 3, 2018 at 16:00 SGT aka 3:00 am EST. Additionally, it will be available live on Youtube in both English and Japanese. Tough hours for many locations.
Here are all the Playstation Awards 2018 categories:
- Platinum Prize : Software titles (DL) with an accumulated shipment quantity (including download quantity) of over 1 million copies
- Gold Prize : Software titles (DL) with an accumulated shipment quantity (including download quantity) of over 500,000 copies
- PlayStation™Network Award : Top 3 network sales titles will be awarded (period: From Oct 1st 2017 – Sept 30th, 2018)
- Users’ Choice Award : Top 10 titles voted by Japan and Asia users. (Released in Oct 1st 2017 – Sept 30th, 2018)
- PlayStation VR Award : 3 titles that contributed to the sales of PlayStation VR (period: From Oct 1st 2017 – Sept 30th, 2018) * Excluding last year’s winning titles
- Indies & Developer Award : 3 titles that contributed to the expansion of PlayStation (period: From Oct 1st 2017 – Sept 30th, 2018) * Excluding last year’s winning titles
We still don’t know the nominees for each category but we can expect a few names to pop up there. For instance, God of War and Spider-Man will be present in a few of those. We don’t know if we’ll see the nominees beforehand. The most possible scenario is that we’ll see them all live during the ceremony.
Remember to tune in to Playstation’s channel on Youtube on December 3rd to watch the show live. Furthermore, there might be announcements about upcoming games or updates during the ceremony. One more thing to look forward to. In addition, three days after this event, The Game Awards 2018 will be hosted. Mark your calendar for this one as well.
