Pokemon GO Trading Is Available, Players Have To Be 20 LVL To Use

Pokemon GO is slowly climbing back to the popular charts with the release of the Pokemon GO Trading feature, letting you trade Pokemon with friends. This feature along with the ability to add friends, have been released today, to hype up the game for this summer’s Research Field Event.

Pokemon GO Trading is possibly one of the most requested featured to be added to the popular mobile game. Niantic has been quite about its release, since it would cause hackers and spoofers to fully exploit it for profit. We still don’t know if the company has totally eliminated such actions, cause otherwise, there will be problems coming to the game in the future.

To surpass that, all players have to be at least 30 level in order to access the friend and trading features. As expected, there will be limitations in order to use Pokemon GO Trading. First of all, you’ll need to level up your friendship with the person you want to trade with. To do that, you’ll need to participate in Rads and Gym Battles with your friend, send gifts from a Pokestop to them and complete trades. Ranked Boost has revealed the time needed to hit friendship marks if you do activities together daily:

  • Good Friend – 1 Day
  • Great Friend  – 7 Days
  • Ultra Friend  – 30 Days
  • Best Friend – 90 Days

Given that, there are stardust costs and limitations to the trading itself. Here are the bonuses of each friendship stage. For instance, Good Friend status lets you trade one regular default pokemon while a best friend can even give you attack buffs and extra pokeballs in gym battles and raids.

Certain Pokémon, such as a Legendary Pokémon, a Shiny Pokémon, or a Pokémon not currently in your Pokédex, require a Special Trade to complete. Special Trades can only occur once per day with a Great Friend or Best Friend, and it often requires a lot of Stardust to complete a Special Trade.

Remember that Alolan Exeggutor is also available in Pokemon GO as a celebration for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! that are coming to the Nintendo Switch in November 2018.
