The Pokemon Company and Fathom Events have announced that Pokemon: The Power of Us will be coming to North America later this year. The latest film in the long-running anime adaptation of the monster-battling series has already released in Japan but it is now making its way across the ocean to us. The movie is, notably, coming to us with a brand new title.
In Japan, Pokemon: The Power of Us is known as Pokemon: Everyone’s Story. The new name change shouldn’t come as a surprise, though, as that’s nothing new for a Pokemon movie. Fans of the series will be able to see the film for themselves when it releases for a limited time on November 24, 26, 28, and December 1, 2018. The release of the film comes just after the launch of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee!
Pokemon: The Power of Us tells the story of series protagonist Ash and his faithful Pikachu as they journey to a small seaside village with a diverse set of characters that will be focused on. When the village attempts to celebrate the time Legendary Pokemon Lugia saved the town, a series of incidents threaten the entire village.
Similar to how last year’s Pokemon: I Choose You! took fans back to where it all began in the original Kanto region, it seems that Pokemon: The Power of Us could be continuing that trend. The film certainly harkens back to Pokemon 2000, the second movie in the series that focused on the Johto region and the Legendary Pokemon Lugia.
Only time will tell, though, as we will have to wait just a little longer for Pokemon: The Power of Us to arrive in theaters in North America. While we wait for the movie’s release, check out how the Let’s Go! games will feature extensive customization options when they release this November.
