Rumor: PS5 DualSense Offers Superior Battery Life

Among the many questions you may have about the PS5 DualSense is probably, “What kind of battery capacity will it feature?” If a recent leak is correct, the PS5 DualSense offers superior battery life compared to the DualShock 4. Let’s check out this leak in detail.

PS5 DualSense Offers Superior Battery Life According to Recent Leak

You can view a tweet below from GalaxyRain666. The tweet shows four pictures which are allegedly of the DualSense.

The text says, “hands on #PS5 controller #Dualsense5 , just got a short test on it. The battery capacity is 1560mA, much more than the PS4 one.” In the comments, they add, “buttons are more pleasant to press than PS4, of course, there are no lights on any buttons,” and, “according to the test on PC, the data protocol of #DualSense5 is almost the same with Dualshock4, that is amazing, seems the two controller have some deep comptibility?”

PS5 Production Scaled up to Meet demand

They continue, “the feeling of #dualsense5 analog stick is almost the same as dualshock4. Interestingly, according to the test, the charge current comes to 1500mA, which means the #Dualsense5 seems support some kind of quick charge technology. Have not tested how long it will get full charged.”

For reference, when the DualShock 4 originally released, it featured an 800mA battery. Eventually, a 1000mA battery took its place. So 1500mA is superior, and hopefully will offer a longer life before needing recharging than the battery in the DualShock 4. Would 2000mA have been better? Of course. But 1500mA is not bad for a start. And maybe a 2000mA battery will show up in later versions of the controller.

This is not the only leak regarding the DualSense lately. Last week, there was a leak which showed what appeared to be a black variant of the DualSense. You can find out more about the PS5 DualSense and check out other updates on the PlayStation 5 in our PlayStation news section.
