Punchline: Far Cry 5’s Latest Weekly Live Event is Now Live

The latest of Far Cry 5’s weekly live events has now gone up, replacing last week’s “Arcade Nights” event. While the last event required players to play the game’s arcade machines, this week gets back to combat in visceral fashion; to complete the event, players will need to take down enemy cultists with their bare hands. Similarly to how Arcade Nights was strikingly similar to the previous Arcade Noon event; Punchline is very similar to several of the other events which have required players to kill cultists in a certain way.

The Punchline Weekly Live Event

As with every weekly live event for Far Cry 5, Punchline has two separate stages, each with its own set of rewards. Complete the task enough times, and you’ll get the first set. Complete it enough to reach the second threshold, and you’ll unlock the second set, which includes the unique event reward. If the community as a whole complete the challenge enough times, everyone also gets additional rewards. Those include a separate unique community event reward.

This Week's Event Reward is a Unique Pygmalion Called the Vroom and Boom

This week, the Punchline challenge requires you to beat down enemy cultists. You’ll need to use your fists, although brass knuckles do also count. You can also score kills while you are affected by “The Furious” homeopathic. Once you kill 4 cultists in this manner, you’ll gain 100 XP and 50 Silver Bars. Once you kill 8, you’ll get a further 100 XP and the event reward; a unique 1973 Pygmalion SSR called the “Vroom and Boom”. If the community as a whole kills 125,000 cultists, everyone will also receive 100 XP and 50 Silver Bars. If everyone kills a total of 250,000 cultists, then everyone will get a further 100 XP and the “Whack!” shirt, which can be worn by both male and female player characters. The shirt logo is the same as that emblazoned on the Whack! paddle special melee weapon.
