Rainbow Six Siege Operation Phantom Sight Full Details Revealed

During last weekend’s Pro League Finals event in Milan, Ubisoft fully unveiled Rainbow Six Siege’s next major content update. Operation Phantom Sight includes two new operators, a Kafe map rework, tweaks for existing operator Glaz, and more.

Rainbow Six Siege Operation Phantom Sight reveal

Thanks to some recent teasers from Ubisoft, we already knew the identities of the new operations, Nøkk and Warden. However, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege Milan unveiling also delved more into how both operators function with their unique gadgets.

Nøkk

Nøkk is an attacker who basically functions as a mixture of existing defender operators Caveira and Vigil. Thanks to her HEL cloaking device, she can render herself invisible and dampen the sound of her footsteps. Nøkk’s HEL device has a limited charge, but while it’s active neither cameras nor the naked eye can spot her. However, if she takes damage, fires her weapon, or tries to sprint, a telltale shimmer will betray her location. This means that gadgets like Barbed Wire and Lesion’s Gu Mines will be effective counters against Nøkk.

Warden

As for Warden, his Smart Glance Glasses make him an ideal pick for defenders who prefer not to roam. Similar to Nøkk’s HEL device, Warden’s Smart Glance Glasses must be manually triggered and have a limited charge duration. While the Smart Glance Glasses are active, Warden is immune to the effects of all flash grenade types. Activating the glasses also clears any flash effects that previously hit Warden, countering operators like Ying and Blitz. The Smart Glance Glasses also reduce the effects of smoke grenades, but only while Warden is stationary.

Rainbow Six Siege Additional Operation Phantom Sight Highlights

Glaz’s thermal scope is receiving a bit of a nerf in Operation Phantom Sight. The scope will take longer to outline defender players, essentially making Glaz a less appealing frontline attacker. Ubisoft wants Glaz to operate as more of a backline support sniper, and the change should facilitate that intended playstyle.

Lastly, Kafe Dostoyevsky has gotten some minor tweaks and visual polish to help it feel fresh.  Rainbow Six Siege’s in-game shop is also getting a facelift to make it more visually appealing and easier to navigate. As of this writing, the Operation Phantom Sight update is available on Rainbow Six Siege’s test server.
