Gamer Recreates Resident Evil 3 in Far Cry 5’s Arcade Mode

Thanks to the recent release of the Dead Living Zombies, another impressive fan-made map has emerged for Far Cry 5’s Arcade Mode. The third DLC for Far Cry 5 introduced a host of new assets to the game’s Arcade Mode, including the various zombie enemies. This allowed a user who goes by “ZergRex” to make an impressive recreation of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis using the game’s Arcade Editor.

ZergRex’s Recreation of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

The recreation of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis in Far Cry 5 is, of course, not the full game. To be specific, it showcases the first few minutes of the title in one Arcade Mode map. A playthrough of this map was featured on the YouTube channel, Residence of Evil (see above), where it has garnered a lot of attention from fans. Although relatively brief, the recreation features an impressive attention to detail. Of course, there are some differences which ZergRex has no direct control over; such as the behaviour of the game’s zombie enemies. Regardless, the map will no doubt appeal to the nostalgia of Resident Evil fans.

New Assets Were Added With Dead Living Zombies DLC

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was originally released back in September of 1999, almost twenty years ago. At the time, it was available on PlayStation, PC, Dreamcast, and GameCube. It’s currently unknown whether Capcom has any plans to remake the game. A remake of its predecessor, Resident Evil 2, is due for release on the 25th of January, 2019. It will be the first remake of a Resident Evil game since the remake of the original Resident Evil in 2002. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis certainly received very positive reviews when it launched in 1998. As a result, it’s certainly conceivable that Capcom may consider a remake if the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake performs well. Until such a time, this may be the closest fans can get to seeing Resident Evil 3 with modern graphics.
