Last month, Rockstar rolled out the big Summer Update for GTA Online, following on from a major update for Red Dead Redemption 2. Now, Red Dead fans are getting a second new content launch, with an all-new Red Dead Online update. This new update includes three new Legendary Rams, new cosmetics, and more.
What’s in the Latest Red Dead Online Update
“There are three new varieties of Legendary Ram who’ve made their way to the Xbox One, PC, and Stadia,” explains Rockstar; “[…] Visit Harriet to launch the Rutile Ram Sighting Mission and complete it to get a free Poncho of your choice.”
The new Red Dead Online update is now live on Xbox One, PC, and Stadia (though not PS4 just yet). In addition to the new Chalk Horn Ram, Gabbro Horn Ram, and Rutile Horn Ram, players can also get their hands on the new Woodcote Poncho and three new coats. (Which you can craft from the skins of the new Legendary Rams.) It isn’t just living animals which have come to Red Dead Online in the new update, however; it’s also dead ones.
Players can now unearth three new Fossil Collections; the Coastal, Megafauna, and Oceanic Collections. Simply speak to Madam Nazar to pick up a new Fossils Map. Rockstar is also giving players an extra incentive to track down these new additions; any player who collects a single Fossil this week will also get a bonus Arrowhead, Lost Jewellery, and Tarot Card. In fact, there are even more bonuses available in Red Dead Online at present. All Role Free Roam Events (with the sole exception of the Condor Egg event) are currently offering double Gold, RDO$, and XP. This offer will be live until the 21st of September. Plus, if you complete any 5 Daily Challenges this week, you’ll earn yourself a Reward which is good for 5 Legendary Animal Pheromones.
Of course, there are also a range of discounts available this week, as per usual. Players can get 5 Gold Bars off the Collector’s Bag, for example, while all Collector’s Maps are half price. Collector Horses, Collectors Outfits, Refined Binoculars, and the Horse Lantern are currently 40% off, as are the Collector Saddle, Camp Theme, Gun Belt, and Off-Hand Holster. Finally, you can get the Pennington Field Shovel for 40% off too.
As always, there’s an extra bonus for players who connect their Rockstar Games Social Club accounts to Prime Gaming. This week, those players will get; 5 free Legendary Animal Pheromones, a free Wilderness Camp, a free Katata Coat, and 6,000 Naturalist XP.
