Two weeks ago, Rockstar teased fans about an upcoming summer update for GTA Online. Now, that update has arrived; the GTA Online Los Santos Summer Special. Featuring more than a dozen new vehicles, new co-op missions, and new Open Wheel Races, the update is the largest to come to GTA Online so far this year.
What’s New in the Los Santos Summer Special
The first major new addition which is included with the Los Santos Summer Special update are the 15 new vehicles. These include a new Open Wheel Racing car – the Declasse DR1, as well as new supercars like the Lampadati Tigon and Invetero Coquette D10. Alongside these new vehicles, the game’s mod shops have also gotten a major stock upgrade. There are now 15 new types of Off-Road Wheels, 30 new sets of Street Wheels, and a range of new tire designs for players to buy.
Of course, the update also includes new missions, not just new vehicles. The summer update adds 6 new co-op missions to GTA Online, all of which are available to owners of the Galaxy Superyacht. These missions can be launched from the yacht bridge, or by calling the yacht captain on your phone. In fact, to incentivise players to try these new maritime missions, Rockstar is offering Double Rewards on all 6 until the 19th of August. Completing all 6 of the missions will earn you a new seafaring outfit.
The other area of GTA Online to get an upgrade with the Los Santos Summer Special is Open Wheel Races. Not only have Rockstar added 9 new Open Wheel Race Tracks to the game, but they’ve also added a new Open Wheel Race Creator. This toolkit features 60 new race track props for custom track creators. Beyond these three areas, the Los Santos Summer Special still boasts a range of additional new content. Players can enjoy 2 new Arcade Cabinets, for instance, as well as new Business Battles. There’s also the high-stakes Diamond Adversary Series; a new series which features a range of game modes like Slasher and Every Bullet Counts in The Diamond Casino.
