Red Dead Redemption 2 Rewards the Player for Killing KKK Members

There are a lot of villainous things in RDR2 like the vampire and enemy gangs, but perhaps none more so than the Red Dead Redemption 2 KKK. Yes, Rockstar Games did not shy away from incorporating the terrible organization into its outlaw game. Players can encounter the racist group of people randomly. They are found in various places like in the middle of the woods.

There isn’t a dedicated Easter egg or anything like that such as was the case with the vampire. Instead, the Red Dead Redemption 2 KKK members are just part of the world and can be found typically at night. Players have observed their actions and they are depicted in a pretty parodic way. They will light each other on fire and so on.

Killing Red Dead Redemption 2 KKK Members Rewards Players

Red Dead Redemption 2 KKK

Perhaps the most intriguing point of interest is when you kill one of them. Normally, murdering someone in the game will result in lowering your Honor level. The game is a stickler when it comes to this, sometimes even lowering your level when you didn’t shoot first. However, it’s a totally different case with Red Dead Redemption 2 KKK members.

Killing one of them, even if you shoot first, will actually reward you with more honor points. However, there is a minor exception to this fact. Murder is murder and you will still be hunted down by lawmen if one of the members escapes and tells authorities. This is an interesting social move that Rockstar Games quietly incorporated into the game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in a very tumultuous time for our country in 1899. Just a few decades after the end of slavery, the game doesn’t shy away from tackling racism and other subjects. For more on what we thought about the game, make sure to check out our review of the game on PS4.
