Red Dead Redemption 2’s Full Map Has Been Leaked Online

With mere days to go before the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, the leaks are out in full force. One such leak involves the game’s map, with several images popping up on Reddit and elsewhere.

Some sources have already had the images taken down, presumably at the behest of Rockstar. However, as of this writing you can still find images of the map via this Reddit thread from user Mco_yum_yum. The images appear to have been taken from a German copy of Red Dead Redemption 2’s physical strategy guide.

Unsurprisingly, Red Dead Redemption 2 will include much of the same landmass as its predecessor. Even with the German text, fans have already spotted familiar landmarks such as Tall Trees, Armadillo, and Flat Iron Lake. Interestingly enough, it doesn’t look like the sequel will allow players to venture into Mexico. Mexico was one of the larger territories featured in the original Red Dead Redemption so its absence is notable.

Even without Mexico, Red Dead Redemption 2 still contains a massive open-world landmass. Again, this isn’t surprising given the game’s equally massive install size, a jaw-dropping 99 GB. Plus, Red Dead Redemption 2 will undoubtedly allow players to visit regions not included in the original Red Dead Redemption.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will arrive this upcoming Friday, October 26. Those who pre-order the game can score several unique perks, especially if they spring for the Special or Ultimate Edition. PS4 players will also have 30 days early access to certain pieces of story mode and online content.

Rockstar will roll out Red Dead Redemption 2’s online component, Red Dead Online, in public beta form next month. The online component will feature the same open world as the single-player campaign and many of the same gameplay activities. Red Dead Online will be continuously expanded, though it’s not clear if Rockstar has DLC plans for the story campaign.
