Rumor: PS5 DualSense Will Correct Stick Drift

Have complaints about the DualShock 4? One of the most common complaints that gamers have made about the current gen controller is that the joysticks are problematic. In what way? Well, for one thing, they are not the most sturdy of things. For another, there is that annoying problem with stick drift. So, you might be wondering if stick drift is also in your future with the DualDense controller for the PS5. It turns out that feasibly, the PS5 DualSense will correct stick drift. Let’s check out where this rumor comes from.

How Do We Know the PS5 DualSense Will Correct Stick Drift?

Okami made the following tweet:

The text says, “In a 45 minute teardown of the new #Dualsense controller, @BattleBeaverC noticed that the joystick mechanism has been rotated 90 degrees. Long story short this should help with the sprinting and stick drift issues the Dualshock 4 had, especially in FPS games.”

In a comment, Okami included a link to the video in question, adding, “skip to 33:12 in this video for a detailed explanation. Haven’t seen anyone else mention this change but it’s a huge relief as I’ve had to replace at least 3 or 4 PS4 controllers due to sprinting issues.”

We all hate stick drift, so it sure will be a relief indeed if the DualSense does not have this issue! If you are looking for other updates on the PS5, you can check out our PlayStation news.
