We know that the long wait for The Last of Us Part II is coming to an end soon. But how soon? There has still been no announcement of The Last of Us Part II release date. But now, there is a rumor that the game will come out early in 2020. And it comes from a source worth listening to.
Here Is the Rumor Regarding the Last of Us Part II Release Date
The rumor cropped up on the Resetera gaming forum, shared by administrator ZhugeEX.

Underneath the two images with the Chinese text, the administrator posted this caption: “Last of Us 2. Feb 2020. Standard Edition, Special Edition, Collectors Edition, Ellie Edition.”
But who is the Chinese source, and why should we listen to them? According to ZhugeEX, “They talked about Death Stranding releasing in November a couple of weeks before the trailer.” So since they were accurate on that score, perhaps they will be on this one too.
If the source is correct, we’ll not only be getting the Last of Us Part II near the start of the new year, but we will also be able to choose from four different editions. The source did not provide additional details on these four possible editions. Since they seem to be listed in what we would guess is their pricing order, the “Ellie Edition” is probably the premium package.
Does the February 2020 possible release date for TLOU II ring a bell? It might be because this isn’t the first time that we have heard this timeframe mentioned. You might recall Jason Schreier at Kotaku mentioning the same month for release based on what his sources told him.
So while this is a completely unconfirmed date, it does seem plausible. Naughty Dog doesn’t typically release games at this time of the year, but we already know that TLOU II was delayed. And because it is a huge title, it shouldn’t matter if it comes out during an atypical month. Sales should be enormous no matter what.
