Saudi Arabia chose to ban a lot of video games because of the tragic deaths of two children. We have seen Saints Row IV getting banned in the past in Australia as well as Saints Row: The Third in the United Arab Emirates. Unfortunately, now Saints Row IV is banned from Saudi Arabia as well.
A 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy committed suicide after playing the social media game called Blue Whale. Blue Whale is a challenge that has players completing a series of tasks that end in suicide. The Saudi government decided to ban a list of 47 video games in total due to this tragic event. They claimed that those games had violated rules and regulations, although they did not state to which rules and regulations they are referring.
Unfortunately, Saints Row IV did not manage to avoid another ban. Knowing its sexual and violent content, we can assume that it was an unavoidable situation. However, without knowing the specific reason it got banned, we can only make assumptions.
