Sekiro: Where to Find Every Headless Mini-Boss

All of Sekiro’s mini-bosses are grouped into specific types, and few of those types are more dangerous than the Headless. There are five Headless in total, and each one drops a unique reward upon death. Of course, defeating a Headless in battle is no small accomplishment. In this guide, we’ll explain where all five of Sekiro’s Headless can be found.

Sekiro Headless Locations Guide

If you’re going to fight the Headless, make sure you’ve got plenty of Pacifying Agents and Divine Confetti. The Headless are aberrations which means they inflict Terror status with their attacks. Their normally high damage resistance is also negated by Divine Confetti.

Ako (Ashina Outskirts/Senpou Temple)

There are two ways to reach this Headless. Shortly after the Chained Ogre boss in the Ashina Outskirts is a large square full of soldiers. To the right of that square is a small shrine with a note warning of the Headless. Grapple along the cliffs behind the shrine to reach a cave containing the Headless.

Alternatively, a secret passage in Senpou Temple also leads to this Headless. The secret passage is in a cave near the Bell Demon Sculptor’s Idol.

Gachiin (Ashina Depths)

This Headless is down in the lower forest area directly ahead of the Ashina Depths’ Hidden Forest Sculptor’s Idol. However, it’s recommended you clear the forest’s mist first before engaging the Headless. The mist can be cleared by slaying the Mist Noble in the area’s large temple.

Gokan (Sunken Valley)

You’ll need the Mibu Breathing Technique from Mibu Village to reach this Headless. Begin by teleporting to the Under-Shrine Valley Sculptor’s Idol in Sunken Valley. Turn around, head up the hill, and grapple across the large gap, being mindful of the two riflemen. Hop up to the ledge to your left, across a small gap, and up another ledge. Shimmy across the narrow portion to reach an open cliffside area.

In this area is a large pool of water. Dive down into the pool and proceed through the underwater tunnel to reach a cave with the Headless inside.

Ungo (Ashina Castle)

This Headless is actually underwater. Specifically, it’s under the large lake directly behind Ashina Castle. The quickest way to reach the lake is from the Old Grave Sculptor’s Idol.

Yashariku (Fountainhead Palace)

The final Headless is also found underwater, this time in the Fountainhead Palace area. Start by Teleporting to the Flower Viewing Stage Sculptor’s Idol and diving into the large lake. Down and to the right is a sunken area containing the Headless. Just note that there’s a second ethereal Headless nearby which will also attack. Defeating the main Headless dispels its ethereal companion.
