Sikanda Launches Kickstarter, Is Inspired by A Link to the Past and Secret of Mana

A 3D action RPG called Sikanda has launched its Kickstarter for Nintendo Switch. The game is being developed by Austria-based Dyadic Games and is inspired by great SNES classics like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Secret of Mana. The game currently has 26 days to go in its funding at the time of writing this and almost a fourth of its initial goal completed.

Sikanda is a top-down action RPG where the titular weapon is granted to your protagonist. The hero in this story can be named and can be a boy or girl. It is also hinted that one of the stretch goals for the Kickstarter includes a character customization option so you can choose what your hero will look like.

All of the gameplay revolves around the weapon Sikanda from combat to even solving puzzles. The weapon is able to shift into other shapes over the course of your adventure. There are a total of 12 unique transformations that the player can unlock for their weapon during the game. Some examples include a claymore useful for taking out multiple enemies and an extendable pole similar to Goku’s in Dragon Ball that is used for puzzles.

In addition to roaming around dungeons and taking out enemies, there will be optional sidequests, puzzles, crafting, trading, minigames, and more for players to enjoy in Sikanda. Exploration is a major part of the game, allowing you to find secret treasures and learn more about the game’s world through lore.

Sikanda is targeting a release for Nintendo Switch in February 2020. There is the potential for other platforms like PS4, Xbox One, and PC but those will only happen if there is enough demand or certain stretch goals are met. Make sure to stay tuned here for more details regarding the game in the future.
